Misti Di Bellezza

I have recently gotten inspired by YOU TUBE GURUS to make a Blog. All of the ones I follow on YOU TUBE have given me a diverse amount of inspiration. Perhaps this first blog entry can give you a glimpse of what my current obsessions are.

Yesterday, Wednesday, February 10th, 2010 was a snow day here in New York City. I was on my way to work and my supervisor called me to tell me that the office I work for was closed.

Since, I was already in the area I stopped by Duane Reade. I stopped by the Make-up and Beauty Section and got two Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail polishes. I fell in love with the colors that I bought: they are great for Spring and Summer.[I got Mint Sprint and Brisk Blue in Creme.] However, I tend to wear all my nail polishes year round even if the colors are more suitable for Spring, Summer, Fall or Winter. I do not like to limit myself to seasons especially with nail polish.

Then, I went to the Clearance section and they had a lot of ESSIE nail polishes for 50% off. I wanted to scream of happiness. I do not remember the colors name. I will put up a picture of all of the nail polishes once I get a chance to post them up on my blog.

Food For thought/ FYI: I am not a Fashion Designer or a Stylist for that matter. I just enjoy experimenting with an array of different things. I love Fashion but I tend to stray away from trends. Trends are great and yes, we all love them but what do you do when the trends fade? As Yves Saint Laurent said “Trends fade but style is eternal.”
Couple of phrases: You re-use, you re-cycle and you style according to what makes you feel good not what other people want you to look like or what is “acceptable” or better yet the “ NORMS” that everyone happens to fall into just like trends. (Doesn’t it sound kind of familiar?)

“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” Definitely true: it doesn’t only need to be about love but also about your own personal taste.

I will try to always give an update on the books that I am currently reading:

I am currently reading: Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan

Summary (In my own words): Basically, it’s about this boy Percy and his adventures. Greek Mythology is associated with Percy’s adventures and life hence the title. You will get hooked by reading the first page of the first book and then you will want to continue to read because you want to know the outcome.

There are five books in the whole series.
1. The Lightning Thief
2. The Sea of Monsters
3. The Titan’s Curse
4. The Battle of the Labyrinth
5. The Last Olympian

They are great I am currently reading Book #3: The Titan’s Curse. I can not wait to finish reading them. I think I am obsessed. Perhaps, I will be writing a lot about what I enjoy reading or what I want to read soon (which is usually a long list).

I get all my books at Borders. I love it!! =D

I am really excited: The Lightening Thief Movie is coming out in theatres tomorrow, Friday, February 12th, 2010 The Lightening Thief Movie I am ecstatic. I will write a review on it once I watch it.

I want to join a Book Club. Does anyone have any suggestions?? Perhaps on-line or in person??

P.S.: Misti Di Bellezza is Italian for Mixed Beauty.
